Newspaper editorials constitute an important genre of public discourse in which institutions communicate normative positions on social, political, and cultural issues through carefully crafted language. This study analyses the stylistic features of Yoruba newspaper editorials published on Tribune Online, one of Nigeria's major national newspapers with a strong legacy of Yoruba-language publication, South West Nigeria. Using a corpus-based stylistic analysis, the study examines 30 editorials published between 2022 and 2024, applying systemic functional linguistics and genre analysis to investigate lexical choice, sentence structure, rhetorical organisation, and interpersonal meaning construction. The study is grounded in critical discourse analysis and evaluative language theory. Existing literature on Yoruba print media language has focused on news reporting and features, with editorial discourse as a distinct genre being underanalysed. This study addresses that gap by treating Yoruba editorials as a unique site of ideological and linguistic production. The research investigates how Tribune Online editorials construct authority, address their readership, and position specific social actors within Yoruba political and cultural discourse. Findings are expected to reveal a formal register marked by elevated vocabulary, complex sentence structures, and culturally specific rhetorical strategies including proverb deployment and historical allusion. Recommendations will address the use of Yoruba editorial texts in advanced Yoruba language instruction and the archiving of Yoruba newspaper discourse.
