📖 ABSTRACT/OVERVIEW
This study assessed the entrepreneurship knowledge of NCE Business Education graduates in Sokoto State, North West Nigeria. The Teacher Education Curriculum in Nigeria mandates the inclusion of entrepreneurship studies as a compulsory component of all National Certificate in Education programmes. However, the depth and quality of this knowledge among graduates in the North West geopolitical zone remain largely unexamined. Sokoto State, with its predominantly subsistence economy, represents a context where entrepreneurship education could have significant developmental impact if delivered effectively. A descriptive survey design was adopted. The population comprised 320 NCE Business Education graduates who had completed their programme within the past three academic sessions across two Colleges of Education in Sokoto State. A sample of 160 graduates was selected using systematic random sampling. A validated 45-item Entrepreneurship Knowledge Test was used for data collection. Mean scores, standard deviation, and frequency counts were computed for analysis. Findings indicate that graduates have satisfactory knowledge of entrepreneurship concepts and opportunity identification but demonstrate low competency in business plan development, financial feasibility analysis, and market research. The study recommends that entrepreneurship instruction in Sokoto Colleges of Education should shift from theoretical to practical orientations, incorporating business plan competitions, field-based market analysis assignments, and mentorship by local entrepreneurs to deepen graduates applied entrepreneurship knowledge. Keywords: entrepreneurship knowledge, NCE graduates, business education, Sokoto State, teacher education
