Manual result management in public secondary schools in Enugu State remains slow, error-prone, and susceptible to data falsification, undermining trust in the academic assessment process. This study describes the design and development of a web-based student result management system for secondary schools in Enugu State, South East Nigeria. The system was built using PHP, MySQL, and Bootstrap, following the waterfall software development model. It supports role-based access for school principals, subject teachers, and form teachers, allowing score entry, automated grade computation, and generation of printable result slips. System requirements were gathered through structured interviews with school administrators and teachers at five government secondary schools in Enugu North LGA. A prototype was iteratively tested with 40 teachers and 5 administrators across the selected schools. Functional testing using black-box testing methodology verified the accuracy of grade computations, ranking algorithms, and PDF report generation. Performance testing under simulated concurrent load of 50 users showed average page load times of 2.1 seconds. The system was deployed on a local school server and integrated with the school's examination schedule. Post-deployment surveys revealed that 85 percent of teachers preferred the new system over the manual process, citing speed and accuracy as primary advantages. The study recommends state-level adoption of similar systems under the Enugu State Ministry of Education, with appropriate training support.
