📖 ABSTRACT/OVERVIEW
This study examines humanitarian supply chain coordination and its effect on aid delivery effectiveness in conflict-affected communities in Adamawa State, North East Nigeria. Adamawa State borders Cameroon and has experienced significant humanitarian needs arising from the Boko Haram insurgency and related displacement crises. Effective humanitarian supply chain coordination, encompassing inter-agency information sharing, joint procurement, shared warehousing, and harmonised distribution scheduling, is critical for ensuring timely and equitable aid delivery. Using a professional applied research design, semi-structured interviews and structured questionnaires were administered to 50 humanitarian logistics coordinators, field distribution officers, and community liaison representatives from government agencies and international NGOs operating in Yola and Michika. The study assesses coordination mechanisms, information sharing practices, warehouse utilisation efficiency, and last-mile distribution performance. Aid delivery effectiveness is measured through beneficiary reach percentage, delivery timeliness relative to plan, and aid item wastage rate. Thematic and descriptive statistical analyses are applied. The study draws on humanitarian logistics coordination frameworks and cluster system effectiveness literature. Findings are expected to reveal that organisations participating in logistics cluster coordination mechanisms achieve significantly better distribution coverage. Recommendations address the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund, UN OCHA, and Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency on strengthening cluster coordination, joint warehousing agreements, and digital tracking systems for humanitarian supply chains in North East Nigeria. Keywords: humanitarian supply chain, coordination, aid delivery, Adamawa State, North East Nigeria.
