📖 ABSTRACT/OVERVIEW
This study investigated the perceived relevance of the Office Technology and Management curriculum to workplace demands among graduates in Kaduna State, North West Nigeria. Office Technology and Management is a key component of Business Education that prepares students for administrative and secretarial roles in modern organizations. As the nature of office work continues to evolve due to digitization, there is a pressing need to evaluate whether the existing curriculum adequately prepares graduates for current workplace requirements. A descriptive survey design was adopted. The population comprised 310 OTM graduates who had been employed in public and private organizations in Kaduna State for at least one year. A sample of 155 graduates was selected through purposive sampling. A structured questionnaire validated by curriculum experts and human resource professionals was used for data collection. Mean and standard deviation were used to analyze the data. Findings show that graduates rated the curriculum as moderately relevant, commending its coverage of office procedures and business communication, but criticizing the limited emphasis on cloud-based office tools, virtual communication platforms, and digital record management. The study recommends a comprehensive curriculum review involving input from industry stakeholders and professional bodies to align OTM programme outcomes with current and emerging workplace expectations in Nigerian organizations. Keywords: curriculum relevance, Office Technology and Management, workplace demands, business education, Kaduna State
