Corporate Strategy and Revenue Growth of Real Estate Firms in Abuja

📖 ABSTRACT/OVERVIEW

This study investigates the relationship between corporate strategy and revenue growth among real estate firms operating in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory. Abuja's real estate sector has experienced sustained demand driven by urbanization, government relocations, and private investment inflows, creating a competitive market for development and property management companies. The research employs a survey design targeting chief executives, development managers, and finance directors of fifteen real estate firms registered with the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria in the FCT. A total of 75 respondents were selected through purposive sampling. Questionnaires measuring corporate strategy dimensions and revenue growth indicators were administered. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression. Findings indicate that real estate firms pursuing deliberate growth strategies anchored on portfolio diversification between residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments achieve significantly higher revenue growth rates than those focused on a single asset class. Proactive land acquisition strategies in emerging suburban corridors are identified as the single most impactful corporate strategy decision for long-term revenue growth among Abuja developers. The study also finds that strategic partnerships with mortgage finance institutions significantly expand the effective demand base accessible to real estate developers. The research concludes that Abuja real estate firms must institutionalize formal strategic planning cycles to systematically capture growth opportunities. Keywords: corporate strategy, revenue growth, real estate, Abuja, portfolio diversification.
