Factors Affecting Timely Delivery of World Bank Funded Projects in Adamawa State, North East Nigeria

World Bank funded development projects are expected to adhere to internationally benchmarked project management standards, yet delivery timelines in many Nigerian states continue to be exceeded. This study identifies factors affecting timely delivery of World Bank funded projects in Adamawa State, North East Nigeria. A descriptive survey will recruit 150 project coordinators, government liaison officers, community development officers, and World Bank project supervision consultants from three active World Bank projects in agriculture, education, and water supply sectors. A structured questionnaire will assess procurement delays, bureaucratic bottlenecks, community conflicts, security constraints, and implementation capacity as predictors of schedule deviation. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis will be employed. North East Nigeria's unique security context, including residual insurgency-related disruptions, is expected to emerge as a significant moderator of delivery timelines alongside institutional capacity challenges. Findings will contribute to the design of context-sensitive project implementation frameworks for donor-funded projects in post-conflict states.
