📖 ABSTRACT/OVERVIEW
Communication breakdown in project teams leads to misalignment of objectives, duplicated efforts, and reduced productivity, with direct consequences for project delivery. This study examines the effect of project communication breakdown on team productivity in manufacturing companies in Ogun State, South West Nigeria. A descriptive survey will recruit 200 project supervisors, production team leaders, and operations managers from 15 manufacturing firms in the Sagamu and Agbara industrial corridors. A structured questionnaire will assess communication failure types including ambiguous instructions, withheld information, poor feedback loops, and technology-related breakdowns, alongside their impact on team output, rework rates, and morale. Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis will be employed. Evidence from Nigerian manufacturing contexts suggests that communication inefficiencies in multi-shift, multi-departmental projects are a significant contributor to schedule delays and quality defects. Findings will guide communication management training for project teams in Ogun State's manufacturing sector. Keywords: project communication, team productivity, manufacturing, Ogun State, communication management
