📖 ABSTRACT/OVERVIEW
This study examines the effect of formalised remote working policies on administrative efficiency in Nigerian corporations during the post-pandemic period (2022 to 2024). While the COVID-19 pandemic forced an improvised adoption of remote work, the subsequent institutionalisation of remote working policies in some Nigerian corporations provides a basis for systematic analytical evaluation of its administrative efficiency implications. The research employs a mixed-methods design. The quantitative phase surveys 310 administrative staff and HR managers in twenty corporations across Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt using validated remote work policy quality and administrative efficiency instruments. The qualitative phase conducts semi-structured interviews with fifteen administrative directors. The Remote Work Policy Framework and the Administrative Efficiency Theory provide the theoretical grounding, with literature from 2022 to 2024 on post-pandemic work arrangements in Nigeria supporting the analysis. Efficiency dimensions examined include document processing times, meeting frequency and quality, communication response rates, and task accountability measures. The study distinguishes between efficiency effects attributable to policy quality versus technology infrastructure quality. Recommendations target corporate HR departments and the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund. Keywords: remote working, administrative efficiency, post-pandemic, Nigeria, corporate organisations
