📖 ABSTRACT/OVERVIEW
Asset integrity management for offshore production platforms encompasses the systematic lifecycle management of structural, mechanical, and process safety barriers to prevent uncontrolled releases of hydrocarbons and ensure safe operation over the platform design life. This study professionally assesses the asset integrity management practices at ExxonMobil Deepwater-operated platforms in OML 67, offshore Akwa Ibom State. The assessment methodology employs a gap analysis against the requirements of ISO 55000 Asset Management standard, the NACE SP0108 corrosion control standard for offshore platforms, and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission guidelines for offshore facility integrity. Technical integrity data including structural inspection reports, process safety critical element verification records, cathodic protection survey results, and non-destructive examination databases for pressurised equipment were reviewed for five platforms. Findings identify that cathodic protection anode depletion in the shallow-water sections of three jacket structures exceeds design depletion limits, presenting an elevated corrosion risk for the primary load-carrying members over the next five-year inspection interval. Process safety critical element testing completion rates fall below the target of 95 percent on two platforms, attributable to access constraints and planning deficiencies during planned maintenance shutdowns. The study provides a prioritised risk-based asset integrity improvement plan with estimated resource requirements and recommended implementation sequencing.
