📖 ABSTRACT/OVERVIEW
This study appraises the role of administrative managers in facilitating organisational change in selected parastatals in Akwa Ibom State, in Nigeria's South South geopolitical zone. Administrative managers occupy a pivotal position in implementing organisational change, as they coordinate communication, manage resistance, and facilitate procedural transitions during reform periods. Using a descriptive survey design, the study targets administrative managers, human resource officers, and general staff in five Akwa Ibom State parastatals undergoing documented reform programmes. Data collection instruments include structured questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and change management process observation guides. The Kurt Lewin Change Management Model and the Kotter 8-Step Change Framework provide the theoretical grounding, supported by literature from 2020 to 2024 on organisational change in Nigerian public institutions. The study examines dimensions of the administrative manager's change facilitation role including communication leadership, resistance management, training coordination, and policy implementation monitoring. Recommendations target Akwa Ibom State parastatal boards and the Ministry of Establishments. Keywords: administrative managers, organisational change, parastatals, Akwa Ibom State, change management
