Assessment of Reprography Services and Their Adequacy in Federal Secretariat Complex, Akure, Ondo State

This study assesses the reprography services available in the Federal Secretariat Complex in Akure, Ondo State, within Nigeria's South West geopolitical zone, and evaluates their adequacy in supporting official administrative functions. Reprographic services, including photocopying, printing, scanning, and duplication, remain integral to document-intensive government operations. The study employs a descriptive case study design, targeting registry clerks, administrative officers, and heads of units in eight federal agencies housed within the complex. Structured questionnaires and facility condition observation guides serve as data collection instruments. The study draws on the Service Quality Framework and administrative efficiency literature published between 2020 and 2024. Key dimensions evaluated include equipment availability and condition, service turnaround time, staff proficiency, and cost recovery mechanisms. The study also investigates the frequency of equipment breakdowns and their impact on official correspondence timelines. Findings are expected to highlight significant gaps between reprography service demand and available capacity. Recommendations target the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing's secretariat management unit and relevant procurement authorities.
