📖 ABSTRACT/OVERVIEW
Corruption is widely recognized as a fundamental threat to construction project delivery in Nigeria, yet robust empirical evidence quantifying its impact on project outcomes across the North Central zone is scarce. This study empirically examines the impact of corruption on construction project delivery in the Federal Capital Territory, Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau States. A mixed-methods design will survey 280 construction professionals, government officials, and civil society monitors, supplemented by structured review of project audit reports from the Office of the Auditor-General. Corruption dimensions including bribery, contract inflation, bid-rigging, and supervision negligence will be assessed using an adapted Corruption in Construction Projects Scale. Multiple regression and path analysis will examine corruption-delivery outcome relationships. Transparency International and EFCC data will contextualize survey findings. This study generates the first multi-state empirical evidence base for anti-corruption project management policy in North Central Nigeria.
