Mediating Role of Knowledge Management in the Relationship Between Organisational Learning and Project Performance in Nigerian Banks

Organizational learning and project performance are theoretically connected through knowledge management processes, yet this mediating role has not been empirically tested in Nigerian banking contexts. This study investigates knowledge management as a mediator between organizational learning and project performance in Nigerian commercial banks. A cross-sectional survey will recruit 260 project managers, PMO staff, and knowledge management officers from ten commercial banks operating nationally. The Organizational Learning Capability Scale (OLCS) will assess learning orientation, the Knowledge Management Assessment Tool (KMAT) will measure knowledge management quality, and the Project Performance Index (PPI) will capture project outcomes. Structural equation modeling using PLS-SEM will test the mediation model. Nigerian banking PM literature lacks empirical mediating mechanism evidence, creating a gap this study addresses. Findings will contribute theoretical advancement in PM knowledge management research and provide practical guidance for bank PMOs seeking to leverage organizational learning for improved project outcomes.
