📖 ABSTRACT/OVERVIEW
Strategic portfolio alignment ensures that project investments collectively advance organizational objectives and optimize resource deployment, yet its systematic practice in Nigerian telecom companies is understudied. This study examines the alignment of project portfolios with organizational strategy in Nigerian telecommunications companies in Abuja and Lagos. A cross-sectional survey will recruit 130 portfolio managers, PMO directors, and strategy officers from MTN Nigeria, Airtel Nigeria, Glo Mobile, and 9mobile. The Portfolio Alignment Assessment Framework (PAAF) will measure strategic fit, resource optimization, and portfolio balance across innovation, growth, and maintenance investment categories. Pearson correlation and regression analysis will examine alignment level and its relationship to business performance indicators including revenue growth and customer satisfaction. Nigerian telecom portfolio management is increasingly challenged by rapid technology cycles, regulatory changes, and multi-geography operations, requiring disciplined portfolio governance. Findings will support PMO maturity development in Nigeria's major telecommunications operators and contribute to the strategic project management literature from West Africa. Keywords: portfolio alignment, organizational strategy, telecommunications, Nigeria, PMO
